Healing from Sin

Healing from Sin

Healing from Sin

Posted by Wes Anderson Faith

“He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion” – Proverbs 28:13

  Notes:

I heard a story recently in the news about a mother who is refusing chemotherapy treatment to be administered to her child who has cancer.  The mother and child are currently on the run because the court has mandated that the child get the treatment, and knows that if it is rendered, then she has a 99% chance of living.

However, if the mother continues to force her child not to receive the therapy, then the cancer will spread, and death will assuredly come upon her. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding this situation, I believe that we as the body can learn a two great lessons here:

  1. As long as we continue to run away from Jesus with the desease of sin inside us, death will always be waiting at the door. For the wages of sin is death.
  2. We can actually prevent others from receiving healing from the Lord by ignoring His available power to them, and by letting fear get in the way of leading them to Jesus.

A great truth in the passage above is that healing from sin can only come to those that are willing to confess it and turn away from it.  In that wonderful moment, the precious blood of Jesus Christ washes us clean, and the Spirit of God comes to us with healing on His wings.

  Willing to Take the Challenge?

Over the years, sins that we have done, and sins that others have done unto us, can cause great emotional, mental and even physical pain.  Thankfully, by the wounds of Jesus we are healed, and when we come to the mercy seat of Christ to confess the transgression, He then has room to apply the forgiveness from the cross to our lives, and remove any damage that the sin has caused.

Is there a sin in your life that you have been concealing from God? If not, perhaps there is a sin that someone committed against you that has brought terrible and unspeakable pain to your life.

Bring it out to the open and confess it before the Lord, so that times of refreshing, deliverance, and healing can be brought forth fully in your life
