Foundational Principle #6: “Eternal Judgment – p.2

Foundational Principle #6: “Eternal Judgment – p.2

Posted by Wes Anderson Faith

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and Eternal Judgment..”

-Hebrews 6:1-2a.

Notes:

The teaching for today on eternal judgment will be dealing with non-christian Gentiles.

We talked last time about how God has divided the human race into three

groups of people: the Jews, the Gentiles, and the Church of God (Christians).

1 Corinthians 10:32 “Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the

church of God:”

God deals with these groups separately during His judgments. The Jews are a special nation.

The Gentiles are the rest of the nations. The Church is not considered a Jewish nation nor a

Gentile nation, but a new nation of those in Christ.

The Judgement of the Gentiles

“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with

him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: (32) And before him

shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another,

as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: (33) And he shall set the

sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left”.  -Matthew 25:31-33

This separation is between those whom God accepts and those whom God rejects.

Those accepted by God will enter the Kingdom for the 1000 year reign of Christ. Those rejected don’t go to sheol, hades, or hell but go directly into the Lake of Fire as the final judgment.

Willing to Take the Challenge?

In the jungles of South America lies a man on the edge of the Amazon River. His heart overwhelmed with guilt, because he has just took the life of another.  What causes this guilt to come over him?  Certainly he was never taught by his parents, “Thou shall not commit murder”.  It is because God has built in unwritten laws in the conscious of every person.  For those that have never heard the gospel, God will judge the nations based on what they knew was wrong, but did it anyway, and what they knew was right, and failed do it.  God is fully just and righteous, and will judge according to His own character.
