Faith and Fellowship
“…and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” -Hebrews 10:24-25.
Notes:
I don’t know about you, but I like to grill. Have you ever noticed that if you are grilling with charcoal, if one piece falls by the wayside and get’s isolated from the rest, it loses its heat and fire quickly? When the charcoal pieces are burning together, then the heat remains consistent through them all. The above scripture describes how believers should be like this. We as humans were created for relationship: Relationship with God, and relationship with one another. As we walk in fellowship with others, we stir each other up for the work of the Kingdom and allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to work in us corporately. As a result, our faith is strengthened and we are challenged to run the race that is set before us. But the minute we step out of fellowship and relationship with other followers of Christ, our passion for Jesus will dwindle, and eventually can burn out.
Willing to Take the Challenge?
Has your passion and desire for the Lord diminished? If so, like that charcoal you might just simply need to be plucked back into a fellowship of genuine believers who all share the fire of the Holy Spirit. Pray about it and God will lead you. If you are involved somewhere, try being observant of the christians around you who may need this, and invite them to your fellowship, so they can be “ignited” once again.
