Misalignment

Misalignment

Misalignment

Posted by Wes Anderson Faith

“Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the LORD, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, and makes an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin; – Isaiah 30:1

Notes:

One of the most frequent problems with cars and vehicles today is the misalignment of the wheels.  I am no mechanic, but I am told that the three most common side effects of poor wheel alignment are:

  1. The car pulls to one side of the road
  2. The tires wear out quickly
  3. There is a lack of steering

God the Father’s primary desire is that the hearts of His children align with His own, and that we express His glory through seeing all things through the lenses of the Spirit of Christ, viewing others and seeing the world from His perspective in Heaven.  Examples of this would be: Loving others as He does, forgiving others as He forgives, hating sin as He hates sin, being Holy as He is holy, having compassion for the lost as He does, etc.

However, when our hearts and lives get misaligned with the purposes and the heart of God, we experience the same side effects listed above.  If we are not careful, life’s issues like careers, education, wealth, and leisurely pursuits can cause us to pull towards the world and away from the work of the kingdom.  Secondly, when misalignment of our hearts with the Lord occurs, we then begin to wear out quickly. Stress becomes overwhelming each day, and the peace of God begins to take the back seat. Thirdly, when we lose alignment with God’s will for our lives revealed through the scriptures and the Spirit, we begin to lose purpose and direction for the reasons we were created and born.

Willing to Take the Challenge?

To prevent misalignment from taking place in our lives, it is vital that we continually focus upon the “Great Mechanic”, Christ Jesus, and allow him to use the tools of the Spirit, the Scriptures, and prayer to keep us in proper order and balance.  When an individual, a marriage, a family, or a church makes the decision to line up with what God is saying through His word and His Spirit, then the full expression of the King and His Kingdom will begin to manifest, bringing it on earth, as it is in Heaven.
