Foundational Principle #6: “Eternal Judgment – p.3

Foundational Principle #6: “Eternal Judgment – p.3

Foundational Principle #6: “Eternal Judgment – p.3

Posted by Wes Anderson Faith

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and Eternal Judgment..”

-Hebrews 6:1-2a.

Notes:

This last part of the teaching of eternal judgment today deals specifically with the Jewish people.

We cannot ignore the fact that God sovereignty chose this group of people, through the faith of Abraham, to bring forth our Savior and Lord. The Jewish nation served as a woman in labor, in order that the historical figure Jesus, the everlasting Word, could be born into the world. So we must understand that there were things in the old testament that were permissible in order for God’s plan of salvation to be brought forth through Jesus.

It is apparent all through the scriptures, that there is no name under Heaven except for the name of Jesus which we are saved.  It is only the faithful remnant that holds fast to the gospel that will inherent salvation.

“Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “THOUGH THE NUMBER OF THE SONS OF ISRAEL BE LIKE THE SAND OF THE SEA, IT IS THE REMNANT THAT WILL BE SAVED; – Romans 9:27

Nevertheless, God still has His hand upon the Jewish people, and has created them as vessels to show His mercy upon. God’s judgment will be based upon His mercy.  However, His mercy is not limitless, but is extended only to the point in which the Jewish people act in ignorance. Paul being a Jew, was shown mercy by God because of this very reason:

“Even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;”- 1 Timothy 1:13.

In conclusion, this is simply a short synopsis of the Judgment to come upon Israel. For more information, I suggest reading chapters 3-10 from the book of Romans.

Willing to Take the Challenge?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ, when presented correctly, can be the power of God unto salvation, and at the same time, can serve as the seal of damnation to those that reject it.  We must remain thankful that God sovereignty chose the Jewish people to bring forth HIs Son into this world, but at the same time treat them as those that are lost and without eternal life.
