Rejoice – your restoration is coming!
May 21, 2020
There was a commandment in the Law of Moses that required thieves to pay back twice as much as they stole. For example, if a thief stole one loaf of bread, they were required to pay back with two loaves. If they stole a pound of meat, two pounds had to be repaid.
Through this commandment, God was revealing how He responds when things get stolen from His children – He commands the thief to pay back twice as much as what was lost.
This approach of His predates the Law. In the book of Job, Satan (the thief) stole almost everything Job had – children, property, health, & income. I say ‘almost’ everything because Satan did not steal Job’s cynical wife – an intentional (and somewhat humorous) strategy to maximize Job’s sufferings!
However, the end of the story says God restored Job’s fortunes two-fold – just like the Old Testament commandment we just read about. This allowed him to leave an extraordinary inheritance for generations to come.
While the works of God are completely unpredictable, His ways are not. Here we discover the way the Father generally responds to His children when they are stolen from:
The thief (enemy) robs God’s children, then they experience loss/suffering, then, God restores double, then a generational inheritance is birthed.
Pause, and re-read that process again, because it is important.
This approach of God is also revealed in the book of Isaiah (parenthetical text added):
“Instead of your shame (suffering) you will have a double portion (twice as much); And instead of humiliation (suffering) your people will shout for joy over their portion (twice as much). Therefore, in their land they will possess double (twice as much) what they had forfeited; Everlasting joy will be theirs!
For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery with a burnt offering. And I will faithfully reward them and make an everlasting covenant with them.
Then, their offspring will be known among the nations and their descendants among the peoples. All who see them [in their prosperity] will recognize and acknowledge them that they are the people whom the LORD has blessed (a generational inheritance is birthed)”. – Isaiah 61:7-9 (AMP)
While COVID didn’t originate with Satan, the thief is leveraging it as a weapon to steal from God’s children – to rob them of their health, jobs, joy, ministries, purpose, and resources, with a clear motive to inflict maximum loss and suffering. Many are suffering at great lengths.
But know this, our Father is taking this weapon gripped in the thief’s hand and will use it to elevate and bless His children – just as He used the weapons of crucifixion to elevate Jesus’ high above all, while birthing a generational inheritance in the process. For if the thief had understood the ways of our Father back then, he would have never wielded those weapons. Yet even today that same thief remains blind to the reality that God causes ALL THINGS to work together for the good for those that walk after Him and His purposes.
I also believe in this hour our Father is commanding the thief to pay His children back a double portion of what they have lost during this virus. As the prophet Isaiah wrote, “Shout for joy over your portion…for I, the LORD, love justice and I hate robbery…”.
If you have lost your joy during this time, you are positioned for a double portion of gladness.
If you have lost resources, hope, dreams, jobs, faith, ministries, businesses, loved ones, relationships, or purpose you are positioned for a double portion.
While I realize some things may never be recovered, I do believe your Father in Heaven wants to reward you as you are faithfully enduring this hardship, even to a degree that your reward will have an impact on your future generations. All who see you and your offspring will know and recognize that you have indeed been blessed by the Lord.
Sir/madam – although presently you may be in the valley of Baca (tears), it shall become a spring surging you forward from strength to strength.
Let us heed Isaiah’s words and bring them to pass – shouting for joy for the new, greater, and double portion coming. Your restoration is in process – even this very hour.
Do you believe it and receive it?
